Paul O’Toole –
In my experience, bike hire usually means a badly-maintained mountain bike with clackety gears. Lake District Bikes offer the polar opposite. This was a superb, light-weight machine with better spec than my usual ride. Supremely comfortable and nimble enough to have you dancing up the hills. John is clearly a cyclist himself and sets the bikes up perfectly – with gear ratios ideal for the terrain. He’s really accommodating, with none of the usual red-tape. I was planning to take my own bike with me to the Lakes but worked out I could hire this for 5 days more cheaply than buying roof bars and a carrier. Very glad I did!

I booked a 56 size bike on line but John said on arrival that it was too small and suggested this titanium bike. It was a great fit. I cycled up some Lakeland passes and had a fantastic days cycling. This was my first Titanium experience, which has really opened my eyes to the opportunities of titanium framed bikes. They are a real pleasure to ride.

A perfect bike for the larger chaps as Im 6ft 6ins,and the titanium frame coupled with the carbon forks give a really nice ride.
