For Your Road Cycling Adventures in the Lake District
John Sutcliffe has been cycling since he was three years old and that was a long time ago. He has lived in Lowick Green on the edge of the Lake District National Park for the majority of his adult life and has an intimate knowledge of the lovely Lakeland cycling lanes. John has cycled in Tenerife, Mallorca, Menorca, France, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Italy travelling on guided holidays or cycling with friends and family. He is also a Level 2 Ski Instructor and a Level 1 Snowboard Instructor so is well versed with the attitude, skill and humour needed in guiding groups or individuals along new routes.
Margaret Sutcliffe has lived in Lowick for most of her life. A keen walker, cyclist and horse rider Margaret is well versed with local bike routes. In 2018, Margaret upgraded her bike to an Enigma Titanium Evoke with Ultegra Di2 gears and Hunt 4 Season wheels. She is a confident cyclist and guide who is particularly aware of her clients cycling abilities and plans her road cycling adventures accordingly.
Graham Carrick is a very active member of the Lakes Road Club, and is assistant head master at the local primary school in Penny Bridge. Initially a mountain bike hound in his teenage years he was converted to being a ‘roadie’ after riding with John for a couple of years. Graham now regularly competes in a variety of road and grasstrack races together with seasonal Time Trials during the summer. Graham has completed the Fred Whitton Challenge on two occasions in under 9 hours. Graham and his bikes are seldom far apart and he has cycled in Holland, Croatia, Mallorca, France, Spain and Cumbria… lots and lots of miles in Cumbria. Graham was born in Ulverston and now lives between Lowick and Penny bridge at Coal Yeat farm, a true Cumbrian who knows the bike rides in this area very well.
Alex Christian is born and bred here in South Cumbria. He is well versed in all the local tracks and trails and will guide you over easy routes or more testing tracks to suit your ability. He knows Grizedale Forest “inside out” with its multitude of of road opportunities. Alex is currently studding at Edinburgh University so is only available to guide during student holidays. All guided rides need to be pre-booked by discussing your requirements with John.
Ren has been a teacher for 22 years so is well rehearsed in guiding together with coaching core skills to improve your technique . This will immediately lead to a boost in your confidence to handle all the trails throw at you. As Ren cannot resist passing on her expertise ,as after all she is a world champion in her triathlon age group, all her rates include tuition.
