What is an E-Bike?

Electric bikes offer additional power. They have a full range of gears and you still have to pedal but the E-power makes cycling so much easier. Hills are no longer a problem! These E-bikes supplement our fleet of conventional bikes and can allow everyone to enjoy cycling with their friends and family. They have an E-power range of 60-80 miles (depending on battery size and usage) and a maximum assisted top speed of 15 mph but you can go as fast as you want downhill!

You have to be 14 years and over to legally ride an E-bike.

I had no idea what to hire but knew I wanted an E-bike. I called John who suggested a hybrid E-bike. This bike is an excellent introduction to E-bikes after Johns comprehensive introduction as to how to best ride an e-bike. The saddle was very comfy soft and wide which was pivitol in my total enjoyment of a full days cycling on an E-bike.I could not have gone for such a distance and been out for so long on any other sort of bike.

We hired an electric hybrid bike (Mondraker Prime X) for my wife to ride in the Lake district for 2 days and John was our contact.

Wow what a great guy. Ever so helpful and put my wife at ease as she had not ridden for ages and was concerned. John spent time with her to ensure she was happy and confident with the bikes controls etc. He also gave us good advice on routes and maps to follow for the best routes for both days.

Day 1 – up the not so busy side of Lake Coniston and over to Lake Windermere and down the not so busy side of that too which was beautiful, quiet and just what we were looking for and gave us the right distance too.

Day 2- was a route to Barrow-In-Furness via the lanes reaching the highest point giving spectacular views of the Irish Sea and Kent Channel. Then it was back along the coast with the wind behind us with beautiful views all along the route to Bardsea until heading back inland again.

Both these routes we did, John recommended and gave us a map to use which was extremely helpful and we well recommend these two routes.

John we will be back up in the Lakes again in July with our girls and we will be hiring bikes again for all 3 of my ladies. See you then.

John thanks again for you Great service, local knowledge and time you took with us to make our rides so much more enjoyable.

You are a Gem and keep up the stirling work too.
